This week’s blog post is featuring one of our own, Harold Armstrong, who in the past couple of years has really upped his value add in his job and to the company, Nemour’s Children’s Hospital (Orlando.) This is no small feat especially given how unwieldy large hospitals can be.  From his Gotham Fellowship (a nine-month, faith and work intensive study program offered by The Collaborative) experience and the program’s challenge to create a cultural renewal project that would directly impact his profession, Harold began putting his decades of experience to work while at the same time considering it through redemptive lenses. The result has significant transformational possibilities. 

Jeannie attributes much of her growth as a leader as well as the recent success within her office to her experiences with Gotham. It has helped recalibrate the way she views not only her position but also work as a whole. “Gotham changed my thinking and now my vision… my purpose is that God put me in this leadership position.”

We are all familiar with the exciting and encouraging opening lines of Oh the Places You’ll Go. I read it the night before going off to college, full of confidence, ready to start my life, excited to see where my brains and my feet would take me. 

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. Aristotle said that. Aristotle, the student of Plato, the student of Socrates, which is quite the educational lineage. But I’ll come back to that in a minute.
